FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about shipping from China to Eurasia by sea and air.

The standard documents include: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading (B/L), Certificate of Origin (CO), and sometimes an Import License depending on the destination country and product type. For certain goods, you may also need MSDS, phytosanitary certificates, or quality inspection certificates. Our documentation team handles all of this for you as part of our service.

Air freight cost is based on the "chargeable weight" — whichever is greater between the actual gross weight and the volumetric (dimensional) weight. Volumetric weight is calculated as: Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 6000 for most routes. For example, a shipment that weighs 50 kg but measures 120×80×60 cm would have a volumetric weight of 96 kg, so you'd be charged for 96 kg. We always optimize packing to minimize your costs.

Yes, we have a network of licensed customs brokers across Eurasia — in the EU, UK, Turkey, Russia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. We handle import declaration, duty and tax calculation, tariff classification (HS code), and any special permits. For DDP shipments, we manage the entire customs process and pay duties on your behalf, so you receive goods at your door with zero customs hassle.

Under FOB (Free On Board), your Chinese supplier is responsible for delivering goods to the port and loading them onto the vessel. You pay for ocean/air freight and everything after. Under EXW (Ex Works), you're responsible for everything from the factory gate — pickup, inland transport, export customs, and main freight. Most of our clients prefer FOB terms, but we can handle EXW pickups across China with our trucking network. The cost difference is usually $300–$800 depending on location.

Cargo insurance is not legally mandatory for sea or air freight, but we strongly recommend it. Marine insurance typically costs 0.3–0.5% of the cargo's declared value and covers risks like storm damage, vessel sinking, container loss, theft, and handling damage. We offer both "All-Risk" and "Named Perils" policies through leading insurers. For high-value goods (electronics, machinery), insurance is essentially a must-have.

Every shipment receives a tracking number (container number for sea, AWB number for air). You can track your cargo through our online portal, via email updates (we send milestone notifications at pickup, departure, transshipment, arrival, and delivery), or by contacting your dedicated account manager directly. For sea freight, we also integrate with carrier tracking systems (like MAERSK Line, COSCO) for real-time vessel positioning.

For sea freight LCL, we accept shipments from as little as 1 CBM (about 200–300 kg depending on density). For air freight, the minimum is typically 10 kg for consolidated shipments and 45 kg for direct air cargo (below 45 kg, express courier may be more economical). For FCL, it's a full 20ft or 40ft container. We'll always recommend the most cost-effective option for your shipment size.
